ANOTHER year has passed and senior students are busy prepping for exams.
We're now at that time of the year in which we see the next generation graduate and look towards their futures, whether that is further education, a trade or career.
With three teenagers of my own, I know deciding on that path is incredibly difficult.
This time brings a lot of pressure, but it doesn't define your future and where life will take you.
In my high school days, the thought of representing my community as the Member for Mount Gambier never once crossed my mind (and probably would have terrified me).
I started out my career as a night filler at Coles before becoming a teacher, a business owner and now, a State politician.
However, each job has brought new skillsets and relationships that have led me to and supported me in my current role.
I can tell you my time fielding questions from customers while I was stacking shelves proved great preparation for Question Time.
So, to all the senior students, study hard but also enjoy this time of your lives.
The memories and friendships and first jobs are all part of it.
And who knows, amongst you all just might be the next Member for Mount Gambier.
