A sense of fulfilment

Friday May 19, 2023

GANDHI once said that “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

The simple act of volunteering is not only vital for the community, but it also fulfills a sense of purpose and belonging that nothing else can suffice.

You may give your time, skills, energy, and passion into helping and supporting members of the community; and in return, you receive friendship, kindness, new skills, gratitude, and community connection.

Active relationships and connections within the community reinforces Mount Gambier’s welcoming and selfless culture, making it a supportive and hospitable place for locals and tourist alike.

I for one know life can get busy, however I try and find some time to give back to the community that has given me so much.

I love this ideology and am proud to say that my staff do too, with all of them volunteering in some capacity through sporting groups, community events, donations, churches, and schools.

I encourage everyone to undertake the simple act of volunteering and feel the sense of fulfilment it can generate.

Give back and find yourself in the service of others.
