Events fund welcome

A SUBSTANTIAL announcement in this month's budget was an additional $20 million for the major events fund.

I would love to see Mount Gambier take advantage of this and bring some of Adelaide's successful events to our region.

Every year South Australia hosts the country's longest running eating and drinking festival, Tasting Australia.

Think immersive dining experiences with celebrity chefs, showcasing local produce with a spectacular backdrop.

The Limestone Coast has an exciting culinary scene - we do food and wine well.

We also have some pretty stunning locations.

What iconic local spot would you like to dine at?

Local gin cocktails and crayfish at the pumping station over looking the Blue Lake?

Or maybe Wagyu beef with a glass of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon engulfed in the Umpherston Cave.

Let's bring the two together, a week of local and celebrity chefs showcasing our premium agriculture area, to both locals and visitors alike.

Imagine if we could hold this event after the Gather round and before Liv Golf.

Let's bring all of these international and interstate visitors that are already travelling South Australia, to our beautiful region and show them what we have to offer.
