The safety of children using school road crossings at Suttontown Primary School and Allendale East Area School is in jeopardy according to Independent Mount Gambier MP Troy Bell.
Speaking in the House of Assembly last week, he said the State Government had recently allocated around $40m in funding to school crossings and signage across South Australia.
"Can Police Minister Dan Cregan advise if there will be an avenue for schools who have already identified safety issues with their current crossings to put forward a submission to be considered?" Mr Bell said.
'Two principals in my electorate, namely Suttontown Primary School and AUendale East Area School, have raised serious concerns with me regarding the safety of their students and the school's current inadequate crossing infrastructure."
In reply, Minister Cregan said he would seek additional advice.
